The Scarves of Dr. Eve Reaven
For Eve Reaven, the electron microscope is a source of scientific
explorationand artistic expression. A prominent cell biologist, Dr. Reaven
long saw great beauty through the eyepiece: the whorls of mitochondria, the
texture of muscle fibers, the patterns of lipoproteins. To share these
images with others, Dr. Reaven now recreates them on fabric‹silk scarves and
ties that are as intellectually intriguing as they are visually appealing.
